Background
The Boshoff Visser Group of Companies is an Auditing and Financial Services group with a difference. We render a wide range of financial services to clients from various offices in the Southern and Western Cape of South Africa. A real “one stop shop” when it comes to financial services!

Our People
We have a total complement exceeding 100 staff members, across all the branches. Being a services company, our people are our greatest asset. We are always careful to recruit the most suitable candidates for the job, also offering on-the-job training to build their expertise. Our staff members have both the academic qualifications as well as the experience to do the job they are hired for, properly. Our personnel include qualified chartered accountants, university graduates, and financial planners, many of them with years of experience in the industry. Mostly in manufacturing, agriculture or retail. The type of business where shareholders are normally not involved in the day to day running of the business themselves but employ management to do so.

The typical owner-managed or family owned business. Be that a farming operation, professional practice or one or other tourism operation.

From young to retired. Whether self employed, working for a salary or running a business across a wide range of industries and trades.

INDUSTRIES

Agriculture
The agricultural activities in the geographical area in which we operate cannot be underestimated. A lot of our clients have ties with farming and agricultural related operations. Most of these enterprises deliver products or services to farmers.

Farming
The Southern Cape is well known for its wheat, barley, canola, dairy, sheep and ostrich farming. This you can tell just by taking a drive along the N2 between Caledon and Mossel Bay, passing towns like Swellendam, Heidelberg, Riversdale and Albertinia. Fruit and vegetables are grown in specific areas like Buffeljags, Barrydale, Heidelberg, Ladismith and George. The Western Cape needs no introduction as far as its fruit and wine industries are concerned. They’re world renowned.

Manufacturing
The manufacturing industry will always be a key economic activity in any area. Normally they’re the big job creators, many times to the unskilled labour market. Our clients vary from small owner-managed operations to big factories.

Non-profit organizations
We service a lot of churches, schools and other non-profit organizations, normally at a special discounted rate. In many instances our staff members are actively involved with the management and giving advice to these organizations free of charge and in their private time. We see this as playing our part in community service.

Professional practices
Architects, doctors, dentists, lawyers, physiotherapists and vets varying from one man to incorporated practices are part of our client base.

Retail
Covering a wide range of clients involved in the retail market, varying in product and service. In the process we service clients with well known brand names like Friendly Seven Eleven franchises, Spar and many more.

Tourism
The importance of tourism in the areas we operate in, is on the increase. We know the impact the industry is already having and will have in future. We are therefore focused on servicing our clients involved in tourism, whether that be game lodges, guest houses, hotels, restaurants, travel agents and many more.
